Steve Robertson

Director of New Accounts

Ahoy! The seas have been kind and wind has guided me on an incredible voyage thus far leading me to Magellan Promotions as the Director of New Accounts.

Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, I attended James Madison University where I studied Sport & Recreation Management and earned a minor in Coaching. I later continued my studies earning my master’s degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University.

Upon graduation, I set sail into my professional career with stops at Longwood University, UCF, and Georgia Tech all working within their Athletics Department where I specialized in Marketing and Fan Experience creating innovative programming and activating strategic branded merch. This allowed me to not only grow record-breaking engagement among the student body, but also among campus and community partners as well.

After following the compass and dropping anchor in Atlanta, GA where my amazing first mate, dog, and cat resided since December 2020 – I decided to chart a new course which led me into Branded Merch specializing with MLB clients and their corporate partners. From bobbleheads to high-end gifting I was able to help MLB teams and their sponsors bring to life incredible projects over the last three and a half years.

With this culmination, I am beyond excited to share my experience and passion for Higher Ed and Brand Merch with our partnering shipmates at Magellan Promotions. I cannot wait to set sail on our new journey together!

Variable Data Best Practices

  • At the quoting stage of your project, please let us know how many fields of variable data your piece will have as this can affect pricing.
  • Data should be provided to us as an Excel spreadsheet with only the applicable data included.
  • Verbiage for variable data fields on artwork file should match up exactly with data fields on spreadsheet.
  • Spacing on artwork must allow for longest data entries. We recommend that your designer tests this in advance to confirm that the fields in the design can fit your longest pieces of data.

Postage Permits

We are happy to mail using a client’s USPS non-profit number. Here are a few best practices for this to go smoothly. Let our team know up front on the project so we can make sure to get the information we need right away.
