Jeanne Collins

Fulfillment Associate

I joined Magellan in January 2025 after spending 50 years in the legal profession as an administrator/paralegal/legal secretary (43 years at one firm, 7 years at another). I retired from the legal profession in 2024, but after a year decided I had too much time on my hands and came back into the workforce on a part-time basis. As a member of Magellan’s Fulfillment Team, I help pack, label, and ship products to clients nationwide.

I have two adult children, two sisters, two cats, and a 100-year-old house, all of which drive me crazy to one degree or another. I love to cook, read, write poetry, and paint. I enjoy attending theatre and musical productions with my friends and family (I have season tickets to the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and the Milwaukee Symphony; and my son plays guitar professionally in various community theatre pit orchestras in the area, so I go to a lot of those productions as well). I also hike regularly with one of my sisters (we hike at least once a month, and haven’t missed a month in 5 years — including the winter months!) and travel within the United States (some current favorite spots are Upper Michigan and Atlanta). I have worked more than a dozen years with Wauwatosa’s Monarch Trail to restore butterfly/pollinator habitat, and I have planted pollinator gardens at my church and home (come sit in my back yard and watch the butterflies!). I am also very active in my church, including singing in the choir. Can you tell I like to keep moving?

Working at Magellan has given me the opportunity to balance my retirement interests and activities with my goal to stay active in the workforce, and I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Magellan team.

What was your favorite band/artist 10 years ago?

Carole King has always been my favorite (I AM a product of my times!)

If you could instantly pick up a new skill, what would it be?

I would love to be able to speak French like a native!

Variable Data Best Practices

  • At the quoting stage of your project, please let us know how many fields of variable data your piece will have as this can affect pricing.
  • Data should be provided to us as an Excel spreadsheet with only the applicable data included.
  • Verbiage for variable data fields on artwork file should match up exactly with data fields on spreadsheet.
  • Spacing on artwork must allow for longest data entries. We recommend that your designer tests this in advance to confirm that the fields in the design can fit your longest pieces of data.

Postage Permits

We are happy to mail using a client’s USPS non-profit number. Here are a few best practices for this to go smoothly. Let our team know up front on the project so we can make sure to get the information we need right away.

While our mail house does prefer to use their permit number for the mailing, we can use the client’s permit, If using their permit number, ensure there is enough postage to cover the mailing.

The information we need to in order to use a client’s nonprofit number includes the following:

Formatting the Mailing List

Our account team will advise on specific requirements for your project’s mailing list.  We generally recommend these best practices to format the mailing list:
