Maira Marik

Fulfillment Associate

After growing up in Illinois, I made my way across the border and attended Marquette University for my undergraduate degree in Medical Technology followed by UW-Madison for my Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. In these careers I have had a chance to work behind the scenes and in the forefront of patient care in the healthcare environment. I continue to work as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient orthopedic setting, and love being in a field helping people feel better and function better.

Outside of work I have been busy raising 3 boys and all that this entails: endless carpools, sporting events and trying to visit as many national parks as we can cross off the list. Now my children are older and more independent, I thought it was a good time to explore other ways to occupy some of my free time and supplement my income for college expenses on the horizon. Just as I started thinking about options, the opportunity to come work at Magellan Promotions with their Fulfillment Team presented itself in 2024 and I hopped on board! It has been fun working in a completely different field and environment from which I am accustomed, and I have been fortunate to work with great people to help me learn new skills and use different technology from what I have done with my careers in the past. It has also been fascinating to see how quickly the aspects of my day to day work here has changed from what I did when I started. I enjoy the change and the challenges! In a way, I continue to “help people” with my role, just in a different capacity than my career as a PT.

If you could instantly pick up a new skill, what would it be?

Play guitar! I have always wanted to learn and have intermittently picked up an old guitar working on teaching myself to play but have never committed to spending the time to really stay consistent. I think I have an untapped musician in me still waiting to be unleashed.

If you could tell your childhood self one thing, what would it be?

Self, don’t try to plan life all out. Life will bring about different encounters, opportunities, experiences that you could never have predicted. These twists and turns will lead you down different paths you could not have anticipated. Embrace all the experiences, as you will learn from each one.

Variable Data Best Practices

  • At the quoting stage of your project, please let us know how many fields of variable data your piece will have as this can affect pricing.
  • Data should be provided to us as an Excel spreadsheet with only the applicable data included.
  • Verbiage for variable data fields on artwork file should match up exactly with data fields on spreadsheet.
  • Spacing on artwork must allow for longest data entries. We recommend that your designer tests this in advance to confirm that the fields in the design can fit your longest pieces of data.
